The hottest day of the year, Saturday 18th August 2012, saw Rebecca and James become Mr & Mrs Neaverson. I arrived at the church, firstly greeted by James and his groomsmen, high spirits and very little in the way of nerves. Secondly I was greeted by an array of beautiful flower arrangements all put together by the bride herself, sophisticated ivory flowers accessorised each pew and lined the aisle.
Then the bridesmaids arrived, excited from their ride in a stretch limousine, but also in anticipation for the arrival of the bride. And what an arrival, simply beaming through the window of her vintage wedding car, not a nerve in sight. If there were any she hid them very well! Accompanied by her parents who radiated pride for their daughter on her wedding day, the atmosphere for the day was set... Love. Happiness. Joy.
It's impossible to not be overwhelmed by Holbeach Church. It is one of the prettiest churches I have seen, with many stunning stain glass windows. The bell ringers are illuminated by one vast window making them visible to the entire congregation from inside the church. The choir sung their hearts out for Rebecca and James, who couldn't take their eyes off each other throughout the service. It was impossible not to notice the caught glances and sweet smiles across the aisle.
After the service, we stopped at Aysoughfee Gardens, Spalding. A beautiful place to get some photographs of the couple together, giving them time and peace together before the reception. The sun was still shining giving us beautiful light to capture these special photographs...
Rebecca and James' reception was held at Spalding Civic Centre, many town balls and events are held here but I have never seen the venue looking like it did that day. White drapes adorned the walls, the ivory flowers had made their way into the reception too making the tables the height of sophistication. A stunning Anna Davies (from Country Kitchen Cakes) 4 tier cake glistened in one corner whilst a pick and mix cart stood sweetly in the opposite corner.
And once the three course meal had been eaten and the speeches made, containing humorous football rivalry, Rebecca and James had their first dance to Adele - Make you feel my love before dancing the night away to a local band and disco.
2 years on I still look back on Rebecca and James' day with a fond smile as it couldn't have been more perfect. And Rebecca and James can do the same with their baby girl born this year. Congratulations!
